Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PortMemo handles information when you use the iOS and iPadOS app.

1. Summary

PortMemo is designed to be local-first. Photos and project data you create are stored on your device by default. We do not operate a user account system for the core app experience. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information the App processes on your device

Depending on how you use the App, PortMemo may process:

• Device photos and camera captures you choose to add to a project (connection maps / rear-panel references).
• Project content you enter, such as device names, locations, port labels, restore sequences, and checkoff state.
• App preferences stored locally (for example, settings and UI state).
• Purchase status for PortMemo Pro, verified through Apple’s StoreKit / App Store billing. We do not receive your full payment card details; Apple processes payments.

This information is used to provide the App’s features: photographing setups, numbering ports, guided reconnect, managing projects, and unlocking Pro entitlements.

3. Permissions

PortMemo may request:

• Camera — to capture a device photo for a project.
• Photo Library — to select an existing photo for a project.

You can deny or later revoke these permissions in iOS Settings. Some features will not work without them.

4. What we do not do

• We do not require creating an account to use the core free flow.
• We do not automatically synchronize your project library to our servers.
• We do not use your photos or projects for advertising.
• We do not sell personal information to third parties.

5. Analytics and tracking

PortMemo is not designed to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising. We do not use your project photos for cross-app tracking.

To measure our own Apple Ads campaigns, the App may obtain a short-lived Apple AdServices attribution token and send it with an app-scoped installation ID to our service. Our service exchanges the token with Apple and stores whether Apple attributed the install, plus campaign, ad group, keyword, ad, placement, and conversion identifiers when Apple supplies them. The installation ID is stored on our service only as a keyed hash. We do not collect IDFA, use this data to follow you across other companies’ apps, or send project photos or connection details with the token. We do not use this token for in-app behavior analytics.

If Apple system diagnostics or App Store analytics are available at the OS level, those are governed by Apple’s policies and your device settings.

6. Third-party services

• Apple App Store / StoreKit — purchases, restore, and subscription status.
• Apple AdServices — first-party Apple Ads install attribution. Our service sends the temporary token to Apple to retrieve a campaign result; the token is not retained in our database.
• Hosting of this policy and related pages — served from our website under https://www.deutec.top/portmemo/.
• Optional temporary sharing — if you choose to create a 24-hour link, the App encrypts a copy of the project and reduced-size photos on your device, then uploads only the ciphertext and expiry to our share service. The decryption key stays in the URL fragment and is not sent in the upload request. Anyone with the complete link can view and copy its contents until it expires; share it only with intended recipients.
• Optional personal iCloud sync — off by default. If you enable it, project data, photos, maintenance history, and templates are uploaded to the private CloudKit database of your signed-in Apple Account so your devices can synchronize them. Apple stores and processes this data under its iCloud terms and policies. PortMemo does not receive your iCloud password or run an account server for this feature. Turning sync off stops future synchronization on that device; it does not erase copies already stored in iCloud or on another device.

We do not upload your on-device project library as part of the default product flow. Exporting a project file uses the iOS share sheet and a destination you choose.

7. Data retention and deletion

By default, project data is stored on your device. You control local retention by keeping or deleting projects, or by deleting the App (subject to iOS behavior and device backups). If you enabled iCloud sync, deleting a project while sync is active also schedules deletion of its synced copy. Deleting the App or turning sync off does not automatically remove data from iCloud; manage iCloud data through your Apple Account and devices.

Temporary encrypted links expire after 24 hours and their ciphertext is purged from our share service. Removing a local project or deleting the App does not immediately revoke an existing link.

Purchase records remain associated with your Apple ID under Apple’s policies.

Apple Ads tokens are kept on your device only while an attribution response is pending; they expire after 24 hours and are removed when the App next runs. Our service normally deletes the keyed installation hash and attribution result after 180 days. Removing the App also removes the locally stored attribution state, subject to iOS backup behavior.

8. Children’s privacy

PortMemo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. International users

The App may be used outside your country of residence. On-device processing occurs on your device. This policy page is hosted on servers that may be located in other regions.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
